Amberd is a medieval fortress located on the southern slopes of Mount Aragats, far from the hustle and bustle of city life. Perched on a rocky cliff at an elevation of 2,100 meters, it is protected by deep gorges on two sides at the confluence of the Amberd and Arkashen rivers. The history of Amberd dates back to the 7th century.

Sagmosavank Monastery is situated on the right bank of the Kasakh River, at the edge of a dramatic canyon. It was one of the richest and most significant spiritual and cultural centers during the Middle Ages.

Ohanavank Monastery is a medieval complex located in Ohanavan village, Aragatsotn Province. The monastery stands on the edge of the Kasagh River canyon, adjacent to the village, with the deep gorge carved by the Kasagh River adding to its stunning setting.
