Yerevan city. Providing an excellent introduction to the history of the city. tour of Yerevan exploring various layers of its history – medieval shrines hidden behind imposing Soviet-style façades, narrow streets of the old center with sunlight playing on its pink walls, Closed Market and Blue Mosque on Mashtots Avenue, Republic Square, Cascade and Mother Armenia, Opera House and ambitious projects of independent Armenia – North Avenue and spacious Grigor Lusavorich (St. Gregory the Illuminator) Cathedral consecrated by His Holiness the Patriarch of all Armenians in the presence of His Holiness Pope John Paul ll.

Echmiatsin  The original church was built in the early fourth century between 301 and 303 according to tradition—by Armenia’s patron saint Gregory the Illuminator, following the adoption of Christianity as a state religion by King Tiridates III. It was built over a pagan temple, symbolizing the conversion from paganism to Christianity. As the center of Armenian Christianity, Etchmiadzin has been an important location in Armenia not only religiously, but also politically and culturally. A major pilgrimage site, it is one of the most visited places in the country.

St. Hripsime church Armenia always has something unique to suggest with each monastery or church. According to the legend Hripsime was martyred in a cruel way for preaching Christianity and refusing the love of our King Tiridates. The structure amazes everyone with its unique style and unbelievable architectural calculations from as early as the 7th century.  Later this construction influenced many other Armenian churches and, and several masters started to widely use many of its architectural elements all over Armenia.

St. Gayane The Saint Gayane Church is a 7th-century Armenian church in Vagharshapat, the religious center of Armenia. It is located within walking distance from the Etchmiadzin Cathedral of 301.

The ruins of Zvartnots Cathedral are located on a flat plain within the Ararat Plateau between the cities of Yerevan and Etchmiadzin in Armenia’s Armavir province near Zvartnots International Airport. Built in the middle of the 7th century CE, under the instructions of the Catholicos Nerses III
