Tour Plan
Day 1
Meeting at the airport Transfer to the hotel rest. City tour in Yerevan is the capital and largest city of Armenia and one of the world’s oldest continuously inhabited cities. Situated along the Hrazdan River. Yerevan is the administrative, cultural, and industrial center of the country.
Day 2
Lake Sevan – Dilijan Lake Sevan – the pearl of Armenia, is the largest lake in Armenia and one of the largest high-altitude lakes in the world, visit the peninsula with a wonderful view of the lake. Dilijan Spa town – Tour a town then visit Haghartsin and Goshavank Monasteries. Back to Yerevan.
Day 3
Tour to North of Armenia Drive to the North of the country on the way stay at Gntunik, this is a very nice place where you can see how Armenian national bread lavash is baked, you can try it, and have a coffee with different Armenian sweets if you wish. Continue via Vanadzor city to visit Haghpat and Sanahin
monasteries, both monasteries are under the protection of UNESCO. Overnight in the hotel.
Day 4
Tour to North of the country Drive to Dsegh village there is a museum of famous Armenian writers, and the road to the village is amazing. Back to Yerevan.
Day 5
Tour to Saghmosavank and Amberd. Saghmosavank monastery is a 13th-century Armenian monastic complex located in the village
of Saghmosavank in the Aragatsotn Province of Armenia. Saghmosavank is
situated atop the steep gorge carved by the Kasakh river.
Amberd is the largest standing fortress in Armenia and is located on the southern
slopes of Mount Aragats, Amberd means “a fortress in the clouds,” a fitting name
given its elevation at 2 300 m above sea level.
Drive back to Yerevan.
Day 6
Khor Virap, Areni, Noravank – Drive to Khor Virap monastery with stunning view of Mt. Ararat, Areni village wine tasting, Noravank monastery which is one of the masterpieces of Armenia, drive to Goris O/N in Goris.
Day 7
Echmiatsin ST. Hripsime, Zvartnotc, Vernisage Drive to Etchmiadzin city. Etchmiadzin Cathedral – is the headquarters and official residence of the Catholics of all Armenians. The Etchmiadzin Cathedral is the oldest state-built Church in the world (4th century), the same period when Armenia adopted Christianity is an official religion. Visiting the church of St. Hripsime (7th century) which is a short distance away from the cathedral. Drive to Zvartnots. Zvartnots Cathedral – is the ruins of a seventh-century centrally-planned aisled tetraconch-type Armenian cathedral built by order of the Catholicos Nerses the Builder (7th century).
Day 8
Drive to Garni and Geghard – is a temple complex located in the Kotayk Province of Armenia. The first traces of human occupation date back to the 3rd millennium BC. In the 8th century BC, the area was conquered by the Urartian king Argishti I. The first literary testimony to the existence of a fortress on the
spur crowning the site of Garni comes from the Roman historian Tacitus and dates from the middle of the 1st century AD. The particular interest is the bathhouse
located in the northern part of the site.
Drive to Geghard Monastery is a unique architectural construction in the Kotayk
province of Armenia, being partially carved out of the adjacent mountain, surrounded by cliffs. (13th century) It is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Tour in Matenadaran Manuscript museum, and the Genocide memorial.
Day 9
Departure.
