Tour Plan

Day 1

Transfer to Geo/ Arm border. Meeting at the border transfer to Tbilisi.

Check-in at the selected hotel.

City Tour

Tbilisi (literally “Warm Spring”) is the capital and the largest city of Georgia, lying on the banks of the Mt’k’vari  River.  Founded in the 5th century by Vakhtang Gorgasali, the Georgian King of Iberia, and made into a capital in the 6th century, Tbilisi is a significant industrial, social and cultural center.

Mtskheta

One of the oldest cities of the country of Georgia was the capital of the early Georgian kingdom of Iberia during the 3rd century BC – 5th century AD and it was the site of early Christian activity.

Svetitskhoveli Cathedral (11th century)

Svetitskhoveli, known as the burial site of Christ’s mantle, has long been the principal Georgian church and remains one of the most venerated places of worship to this day.

Jvari Monastery  (6th century)

Jvari Monastery stands on the rocky mountaintop at the confluence of the Mtkvari and Aragvi rivers, overlooking the village of Mtskheta. Overnight in Tbilisi.

Day 2

Visit Kakheti region – Bodbe Convent – a place where the relics of St. Nino, enlightener of Georgia

Visit Signagi, Tsinandali – a well-known wine-growing settlement, where the patrimonial estate of the Chavchavadze family is. In the manor, there is the Chavchavadze museum surrounded by a magnificent park. Tsinandali set up the oldest wine factory in Georgia. Telavi – with its vicinities, which are incredibly interesting. A lot of important cultural monuments of they have survived up to now. Transfer to the border back to Yerevan.

OPTIONAL

Extension to Kazbegi and Dariali Gorge via Ananuri, Gudauri.

Day 3

Visit the architectural complex Ananuri overlooking Zhinvali reservoir. Further travel to the Georgian Military Highway – is the town of  Stepansminda situated at the foot of Mount Kazbek – the most famous and picturesque mountain in Georgia. Above the town like a fairy castle, rises Gergeti Trinity Church. The church is situated on the top of one of the mount.
